Inventory Pro internal system rests on a solid three-tier, object-oriented, web-based foundation widely recognized as the industry standard. Cutting-edge innovations (ASP®, ActiveX®, Java®, etc.) are employed on every tier, taking advantage of the latest achievements in this field of information technology.
System Requirements
Microsoft Windows Server (2003, 2008, 2012, 2016) based platform
- IIS v6/7, all Microsoft Patches/Updates supported
Database (can be on the same or different server(s) as the IIS instance)
- SQL Server 2005+, 2008R2, 2012, 2016; Express, Standard or Enterprise
- Supports mirroring
User Interface based upon standard WWW browsers: (in preference order)
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- IE v10/11/Edge
- Must have cookies enabled
Mobile Devices
Smartphone/tablet
- iPhone, iPad, iPod (iOS) and any Android device or any device with a WebKit enabled browser. Developed in Jquery – scales to any size screen automatically
- Motorola Bluetooth scanner (as long as it doesn’t disable the keyboard)
- Socket Bluetooth scanners and sleds
- Koamtac sleds
- (almost any Bluetooth device works – just test first!)
Rugged
- Windows Mobile 2005+ devices (Motorola MC9000 or MC55A/75A, Workabout Pro, etc.) LXE, Honeywell, CipherLab CP60, Handheld

- Android industrial – Zebra RFD-8500 RFID Bluetooth reader

Uses Active Reports (run-time supplied if hosted locally)
- Prints barcodes
- Reads RFID tags (Bluetooth RFID readers, Industrial RFID readers)
- Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader
Application written in ASP, ASP.NET, and VB
- Compiled code
- DLLs are registered via run command line using regsvr32.exe
Certain DLLs need to be added to Component Services as a COM+ application.
- Infolite.dll – needed to allow the reading of our compiled dll files
- vArx.dll – Active Reports
- Arx2.dll – Active Reports2.dll
- Ipol2101.dll – main COM+ application
- Uploadfile.dll – allows upload and download of files from the IPOL interface
Certain folders need write permissions. Mainly those that have files exported from and written to
- IPOL/framework/import
- IPOL/framework/export
- IPOL/framework/user
Standard SMTP for email

No client side installations – all server side
Supports keyboard wedge, Bluetooth, wireless RF barcode scanners (IP*Mobile/JP*Mobile)
Firewall ports:
- http = port 80
- SQL = port 1443
- The system can be run over HTTPS if desired (need to buy certificates)
Process for Installation on Server with no SQL Server using an empty Inventory Master DB:
- Install SQL server
- Install DB manager software
- Attach Master DB to SQL Server
- Copy files to IPOL folder
- Give write permissions on specific import/export folders
- Register dll’s
- Add specific dll’s to component services
- Create IIS website
- Register dll files
